ONDO INAUGURATES ATIKUNATION ICG EXECUTIVES FOR 18 LGA

The Ondo State chapter of Atikunation ICG, a major national campaign group saddled with the mandate of pursuing the realization of former Nigeria Vice President Atiku Abubakar's 2019 presidential ambition has inaugurated its newly appointed executives for each of the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

                            

    

The event which took place at Parliament Hotel, Alagbaka in Akure, the Ondo State capital on the 26th of January, 2018 had in attendance nominees for executive positions and representatives from all the 18 local governments areas of the state who came together to indicate their love, commitment and readiness to work for the success of the team's mandate in their various LGAs.

                                          

                                                  

The event which began at 12:30 p.m also featured members of the Atikunation ICG state executives for Ondo State, their counterparts from other states as well as a national delegate from Kwara State.

This very significant event came on the heel of The former Vice President's ground-breaking visit to the Chairman PDP Governors' Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Ayodele Fayose which he referred to as a starting point in his consultation plan in preparation for the 2019 race. This inauguration is believed to be a step in the right direction towards kick-starting rigorous work at the grassroots level across the state. 

    

The executive nominees who trooped out to receive the probably foremost presidential aspirant under PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abukar at the Akure Airport days earlier could not hide their joy, passion for and confidence in the person of Atiku for which they swore unrepentant allegiance.

Apparently, Atiku, who had significantly remained a major force to reckon with in his old party as a foundation member, even after his political sojourn in the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has remarkably been enjoying widespread acceptance and increasing population of followers who had waited earnestly for his return.

It would be recalled that the political bigwig who played significant role in foiling the Obasanjo's third term bid, even as the then Vice President out of a heart void of greed, made a historical return to his former party, PDP. His return which is believed across major quarters of the nation's politics to stand him a brighter chance of candidacy for the 2019 presidential election has been received with great commendation both home and abroad,even as PDP faces the serious task of feeding a strong, credible and capable candidate who would successfully lead the party towards actualizing its ambition of regaining power from the current ruling party, he is believed to have an edge over other potential contestants within the party.

                                            

While inaugurating the Local Government Executives, the Ondo state Director for Atikunation ICG, Hon. Sam Ademusi charged the new executives to be committed and loyal to the mandate given to them. He then encouraged them to see their appointments as a privilege to serve, for which they must deliver excellently. According to him, "It is indeed a great responsibility which requires dedication, focus, resilience and hard work".

In their responses, the newly inaugurated executives appreciated the team for giving them the opportunity to serve. They described the gesture as' giving them a platform through which they can effectively play a part in turning around the fortune of their various communities and nation at large'. They however promised to stay loyal, disciplined and committed towards delivering  beyond expectations.

While bearing their mind on Atiku, they expressed confidence in his candidacy as the best choice the party has if it must achieve its major focus. They also express confidence in the capability of Atiku Abubakar to deliver the kind of leadership the nation Nigeria and her people need at this critical moment in the nation's history. They promised to go back to their various LGAs and build on existing structures they set up and ensure all is set to pursue success with zest across their entire state for actualizing Atikunation ICG's mission.
